Ongoing problem with VS series 3 ute. Engine keeps stalling out. No error codes on the computer. Happens within 5/6K of starting from cold, sometimes only a couple hundred meters from home. Its becoming a real pain. Dont think its the CAS, engine is barely warm at times. Thinking fuel problem, do these suckers have a fuel filter, if so where abouts are they situated. After stalling out it usually starts up again on first key turn. Fuel pump problem maybe? My previous experience thinks the fuel pump either works or doesnt work. Injector problem? She does not run rough, just stalls. Fuel starvation?
I never run the tank low on fuel. She will occasionally then stall out again shortly after restarting, once over the 5-6k distance it behaves. Fuel consumption appears to be a bit heavy also. I am not a lead foot driver. O2 sensors also come to mind but just dunno. Lack of error codes is a piss-off.
10L per 100ks seem excessive?
Thanks any info
Regards

Could be the DFI module or coil pack. But just because it doesn't throw up a code, I wouldn't rule out the CAS.
When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter have a look at it and replace it required
Could be the crank angle sensor, the person who had my VR before me had the same trouble as you are having. also he didnt get any trouble codes on a scanner either. he replaced the crank angle sensor and she runs like a bute
Gday all,
Done the crank angle sensor, replaced fuel pump and filter, threw new plugs and leads into the car, drove like a beauty for 40 clicks now it wont start, turns over, feels like its gonna fire up then doesnt. Possible cam angle sensor problem, have not been able to check for error codes as working shifts and too buggered to get out in the dark and mess around. Will get to it on Friday I hope. Any ideas to contemplate would be appreciated. Have been able to try a replacement DFI module, problem persists. When turning the key the fuel pump kicks in and pumps up fine, fuel pressure is good at about 35psi. Unsure if spark is present, not sure how to check. Could the cam angle sensor prevent this spark from happening?
Thanks
Bob
