hey, i hav 15" stockers on my VS. i want a real fat look out of them wen it's on it's arse. my friends dad suggested puttin fatter tyres on them. instead of the standard 205's, he said put 225's. wat do u think???????![]()
I'm not sure 225s would fit on standard rims, but someone might come in and correct me. 215's will fit for sure
You could always hunt down the 7" wide ones from whatever they came off, then 225's would definately fit, but if you are planning on getting 19"s then why waste your money?
EDIT: If you are selling it then why bother doing any of it?

I had 215s on stockies you can't realy notice it so no point if you want to spend some cash buy a set of blanks for a rim mob take you fims and the blanke to a rim mob they will take you centers out out your stockies and put them in the blanks hope this helps
by going wider tyres you also need to lower your profile to keep your your rolling diameter the same or at least near the same so you dont get speedo issues
I have 15's still on the front of my car,sh!t mags but i still have the 225's tyres i put on well over a year ago.I dont think the wheels are overly wide so 225's should fit
WTB:VR/S HSV 250km/h speedo cluster
A quick run down on tyre size and profiles
a tyre that has 205/55 is 205mm wide with a side wall that is 55% of the width so the sidewall is 112.75mm
a tyre that is 225/50 is 225mm wide with a side wall that is 50% of the width so the side wall is 112.5mm
do your own maths and keep the sidewall as close as you can to reduce any speedo errors, thou some profiles will be expensive in certain combos
it means you have a side wall of 133.25mm if you go 225 get a 60 profile ie 225/60 that will give you a sidewall profile of 135mm thats as close as you will get on 15 inch rims. The R is a speed rating you need a speed rating of at least H thout the tyre shop will know that
I run 225/60 15 on 15x6" rims... No idea what your on about, I'm hunting 245's for them.

& Jale.VScommo That's my Old VN. If you'd notice I said what profile I'm rolling on, Don't take the assumption that I'm rolling in what my display pic is.

use this calculater for rolling diametres and tyre sizes Tire size calculator
as everyone has suggested, invest in a set of interceptors/chaser rims, they're wider and u can fit fatter rubber to them, that way its alot safer.
