hey
has anyone owning a 5ltr have/had problems with there std torque converter flying to bits internally or some other issue??????
also i was looking at puttin at 2,200rpm stall and stage 2 shifty is that a good choice???
paying $500 for the stall and $250 for the shifty is that a good price????
thanks
never really heard of a converter flying to bits but stranger things have happened, 2200's not a bad stall for a stocky engine, standard is around 1800 so you'll get a bit more punch off the line without needing a cam, kits are good too but don't go overboard, the everyday drive becomes a ball breaker if you do a lot of suburban driving as it clunks up and down thru the gears. Remember that with a stall the box doesn't feel like its changing as hard as it. When they feel that hard, its usually from a standard stall when the revs drop between changes. A lot of people cant work out why 'it used to chirp between gears but wont now with a stall'. Price is good, could prob find a stall cheaper but if they are from the same guy, the kits a pretty cheap price, what brand stall is it.
