I'm looking at a VS S2 executive auto sedan at a dealer. This is for my mate. The dealer says it has an airbag, but I'm not convinced. I bought my VS S2 Executive manual from Reg Hunt back in 1997 (the last manual VS made!). It has the S-pack and clearly has a driver airbag. It says so on the steering wheel and there are notes under the driver sun visor.
I see no such evidence of an airbag in the one at the dealer. How can I tell for sure? I don't think my mate will buy it if it doesn't have one.
Thanks.
Why dont you feel to ses if it has a airbag lol ?
Under the drivers seat is a square module.
On the "B" pillars it usually says "SRS".
On the steering wheel where the air bag would go it should have pleats to aid the bag to break through the cover.
And as you noted there should be notes underneath the drivers side sun visor.
Also, the Executive did not come with an airbag as standard, although it probably could be fitted as an option.
Thanks Seraphic06.
That's useful advice and gives me enough ammunition to argue with the dealer.
p.s. Traynor... I'd already tried the "I can't feel it" angle ... lol
should say srs on the steering wheel. If it doesnt no airbag or take it 4 a test drive and hit a wall or somfin solid, not 2 fast tho u dont want 2 get hurt
Wrecking VL factory V8 only a few bits left still have full dash/crash pad
and have a vk 202 motor and 5 speed Make an offer want it gone
Yes, it will have SRS written on the steering wheel.
better yet...u can tell by the way the steering wheel looks. if it has a "bigger" centre part where the horn buttons are then it usually has an airbag, if it is the older looking steering wheel with no centre part that looks all cushiony in the middle then no air bag.
