hey all while i was at a recent drift day at queensland raceway. they had a dyno comp going so i thought id put my vr v6 on on the dyno to see what the old girl pulls. the only mods i have on the car atm is prett much k&n pod and 2.5in mandrel bent cat back exhaust. the first run saw it pull 146.0hp at the treads which i thought isnt bad for 16 year old car with 250,000 on the clock : ) lemme know what u guys think
what do you want us to say?
i reckon its about 350hp short of a nice figure.
but saying that, chassis dynos are only good for reading afr's without going anywhere.
i wouldn't put my left one on any power figure derived from a chassis dyno.
ok ok ok. Shouldnt really be hating on this forum and i wont but this is pretty much what your saying. my stock buick v6 out of my vr should of been making 496hp at the wheels and that all the leading tuners such as croyden racing developments CRD, 999 automotive or what****enever who are using chassis dyno's are all wrong?..
dont stress mate thats a pretty good figure for a buik v6... most standard 5ltrs struggle to get over 200
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
i reckon thats a good figure for what k's u have mate.
i ran on a dyno today and my vs v6 with 88000 k's pulled 153.2 hp..
a vs v8 manta pulled 180...
so yeah as said above theyre pretty good figures against the 5L...standard ones anyway
plus its not always about a cars rwhp but more about the touque and responsiveness of a car, and getting the power to the ground
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
