Ecotec suddenly started to hesitate last night. Not all the time but still often. Feels a bit like a dead lead or plug. Checked error codes when i got home and it spat out 47,48,and 49.
Are they all CAS codes ? I replaced my CAS last year with one from Repco. ACA i think it was, made in Mexico. Are there any better CAS's out there ? The original one lasted about 13 years so 1 year is rubbish in comparison.![]()
Just Commodores - For All Your Holden Commodore Needs
Code 47 - Crank Angle Reference Signal
Code 48 - Cam Angle Sensor
Code 49 - Crank or Cam angle Sensor Intermittent
Change Cam angle sensor maybe?
New set of leads and plugs.

Thanks Pete, leads and plugs are near new, so is the CAS, so i guess this time i'll do the Cam angle sensor and see if that solves it. All I have to do now is find one. Does anyone know if they are Holden only ? The bloke i spoke to at Repco had nothing on the system ?
probably a dodgy connection on the dfi module plug ide say

dam it. I just checked the coils in the dark as thats what it turned out to be last time i had code 47, and again when i give it some revs there are sparks all over the place around the coils. I'm assuming a dead CAS or cam sensor would not cause this and one of my coils has shat itself again. I guess the first thing i'll be buying is another coil or 2. I just have to work out which one is dead.
Thanks for the update
