plz ppl any iders
The auto sounds like its on its last legs, take it very easy on it to avoid being stranded. A new reco auto is around the 2k mark plus or minus a few hundred depending where you go. Fuel leak not to sure but I would say its the o-rings?
was the oil low when you checked it and what is the vacuum leak, more info, diff and trans are usually the same place so drive in to one and see what they say.
Mate ive had the exact same problem with auto since i got the car (2years ago) unfortunately its just on its last legs, but you could just try getting a tran service and see if that helps
check your auto followong these steps...
TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECKING PROCEDURE
1. Start engine and drive vehicle for a distance of 24 km, or until transmission normal operating temperature is reached.
NOTE:
As temperature greatly affects transmission fluid levels, this operation must only be carried out with the transmission at normal operating temperature (82 - 94° C). If the vehicle is not at normal operating temperature, and the proper checking procedures are not followed, the result could be a false reading of the fluid level on the dipstick.
2. Park vehicle on level ground.
3. Move gear selector to 'PARK' position.
4. Apply park brake.
5. Let engine idle for 3 minutes with accessories turned off.
6. Lift the locking lever on the red coloured dipstick, remove dipstick and check fluid colour, condition and level.
7. If the fluid level is low, add only enough Dexron® III to bring the level into the “HOT” area.
* Inaccurate fluid level readings will result if checked immediately after the vehicle has been operated under any or all of the following conditions:
a. In high ambient temperatures above 32° C.
b. At sustained high speeds.
c. In heavy city traffic during hot weather.
d. Towing.
e. In commercial use (e.g. taxi).
* If the vehicle has been operated under these conditions, switch the engine off and allow the vehicle to 'cool' for approximately thirty minutes. After the cool-down period, re-start the vehicle and continue from step 2, above.
goodluck...
cheapest fix would be to have it professionally serviced, changing the filter and full flush of the converter and oil pan. On VR's the change is accomplished with electronic selenoids as such they can stick and cause what you are describing.
Cheapest repair would be wrecker swap out, in Adelaide you can get one for around $350 that is in very good condition.
Fuel Leak ?? - more information is required to solve.
Vaccum Leak to the Auto?.... Again more information plz
Thanks
This isnt necessary just to check you oil, its not a space ship, once the car is started, drive around the block, pull the dipstick out and check the level, if it low, top it up. Keep the car running too. Dexron III might be a good oil but what a lot of people dont realise is it has cleaning agents in it. Once this is used in an old auto, it frees up a lot of crap buildup which sticks solenoids and causes more problems. Its only good to use once the box has been rebuilt, regulary serviced or a newer car which cannot builup that much crap in a short time.
Get a service, filter, oil, adjustments and see what happens, and go to an auto joint.
thanks guys
oh and today i just realized that when the car is cold the auto kicks and shit but as soon as the auto heats up it stops and it works like a dream the kick is very slight can just feel it could it just need a service?
