Default Vr commodore engine problems!!! Help

Hey guys, I started my vr commodre one morning and went to reverse out the driveway . I was in 'R' and I accelerated a lil bit and it just reved'.

It was like I was just reving while in neutral. This also happens while im in 'D' . At the same time there is a extremly LOUD click going round and round while the car is idleing and when I accelerate. Some said one of me piston rings are loose, some said one cylinder is down, others just dont know until we pull the engine apart.

    Any help would be awesome!

I'd say its not an engine problem if the transmission wont engage. If you're going to be pulling the engine apart yourself, then go for it, but if a mechanic has suggested this, you're being taken for a ride.

I agree with Vee-ard, this is really a transmission related problem. I'd get a second opinion from another mechanic if i were you.

Yeah that maybe, but also there is a LOUD clicking noise while the car is idleing and when I accelerate. It sounds like something is loose in the engine but don't know what it is.

It sounds like something loose is cycling round and round.

    Any ideas?

Thats what mine is doing. Loud ticking when idleing, accelerating and even driving. Turns out I need a new engine
