Indicators randomly start flashing

As i'm driving along both side's indicators start flashing as though i've got the hazard lights on, although in a different pattern. On 2 seconds, off 1 second, and repeat.

It happens whether i'm moving or sitting still, and it's very intermittent,but a flashing session usually lasts about 10 seconds. Turning on the headlights triggers it 100% of the time. There's nothing i can do to stop it either, purposely indicating or putting on the hazard lights doesn't interrupt it.

I fixed this. The earth wire burnt itself out. No idea why considering it was 4-gauge wire.
