Don't you dare and cut your springs.... Live axle means... well how can i explain it, IRS means each wheel is independent of the other wheel in terms of suspension live axle is this: Click me

ok thanks so live axel or not has nothing to do with ride height? , what would be the best way to get a statesmans rear gaurd to sit over the wheel?

Well most people who do that put Superlows on the front and Ultralows on the back, so that is lower at the back of the car, you'll need roll the guards if they are non standard wheels otherwise you should be ok.

Did all VS statos have IRS? Gaurd sitting over wheel is typically called "Wheel tuck" or "Gaurd Tuck"... It usually happens when a car is lowered, without a camber correction kit. Best way to achieve it, if the car is IRS, is just get the lowest springs and shocks you can find. But you will be going through tires like there is no tomorrow.
