    Default Weirdest engine problem

G'day, strangest thing happens to my car, when in a cold environment say in the morning when i go to work my engine starts fine, but at the end of the day after its been sitting in hot weather i go to start the car and she runs rough as guts for like 3 secs or more and then goes smooth, my battery light i have seen is getting dimmer too, but its brighter in the morning when its cold any explanation would be great.

Check the terminals on the battery - they should be tight and clean. Also check the terminal and cable at the rear of the alternator - they burn out and cause major electrical problems.

yeah it seems to be something to do with the alternator but i don't know where the terminals are for the alternator cause i've never had an issue with one before so im a bit novice with them, also i should point if this helps the rough startup doesn't happen after driving the car only when haven't been driven for awhile.

Follow the cable from the RED terminal to the alternator and vice verse for the cable in question.
Look for obvious signs of cable damage, burnt sheath, ripped copper wires and so on.

Have do done a codes test? If not then I advise you to do so.

code check is fine 12 every time. i might need a new battery cause its pretty old roughly 5 years and its sealed battery too, confusing dont know whether to go and get a new alternator and put it on or a battery...

IMO, you should change the battery first. If it is five years old, it is about time to replace it. You have done well getting five years out of it.

change that lead, the big one with the green corrosion on it. that'll be ur problem, when it heats up the resistance gets greater. use 4gauge wire to replace it.
