    Default How much do you's think this stuff will cost

    Hey everyone how are ya's, got my car back from its service today and i just wanted to know what you's think these things will cost and how hard is it to do, i know this stuff has probably been covered but i had a look and couldnt find it specificly its a vs calais 6,

    1. He said it was burning oil and probably needs valve stem seals replaced

    2. R/H steering rack boot

    3. Link pins and castor rod bushs

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers

    well i know the boot is not hard to change just drop ya tie rod end and mark it where it is and unscrew it off then pull the boot of and put a new one on and then screw the rod back on and bolt her up.


    if ya do one then ya prob best to do both as then you know the other one is not gunna stuff up anytime soon there pretty cheap too

    at least your mechanic knows his stuff.
    They're not real difficult jobs but you'll need a few special tools. Set of front bushes are about $150 ... if you can change your own brake pads you can probably do the bushes and boot.

    sick thats pretty cheap, not sure its a front end thing im pretty sure, i think its the metal rods that are behind the front wheels that go vertical.

    yer he seems pretty good, he's only knew in my area (last year or so), that might be a job for him im a bit lacking in tools

    yea them bars sway bar links cost me 55 with bushes nothalane set repco easy to install

    Does anyone know about the vavle stem seals? and would it matter if they dont get done for a little while?
