gearbox not changing gears

hey all. i have a vs v6 and it seems like the gearbox is playing up recently

when shifting form park to reverse and from neutral to reverse or drive, the gearbox seems to be clunking/jolting in quite hard, hard enough for me to notice its not really well ha.

also doesnt seem to be shifting gears well at all. only manually shifting to 2nd to get it out of 3rd and so fourth.

trans fluid is normal and i dunno. might just drop it to the mechanic but if its not to complex il give it a crack myself

Try a codes check first - it may tell you what is wrong with the auto...sounds like you are in Limp Home Mode which will log a fault. Here are the instructions:Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)

Could be the solenoids mate, i'd take to the mechanic before it gets worst. But also does sound like the gearbox is on it's way out.

hey cheers for the help.

i bridged that thing under my steering column and did the test

came up with error 66 which is 3-2 shift control solenoid.

il get it fixed if it can be fixed=D
