Tapping Sound

i have a 304 vs statsman
it has started making a loud tapping sound
i have been told a couple of thngs
has any one had this problem b4
or does anyone no what this might b???

you might wanna be a bit more specific as to the location of the sound. there's a few hundred different possibilities

Throw a bottle of nulon lifter free in the engine oil.

yeah i recently changed the oil so i didnt bother dumping it again an just put a bottle of nulon in, but iv only drivin about 40km i was worried that i might do more damage driving it with it tapping that loud do u no how long i would have to drive for nulon to work?

Should only take a few minutes to start working.

Take the rocker cover off and check that you are getting oil up, the relief valve might be stuck open in the oil pump

i took off the oil cap and i can see that there is hardly any oil coming up, its dribbling

Does it get worse(louder / faster) after you give it some good throttle?
