Default Holden Police Chip suit VS V6 Series 1 Auto

I dont know alot about chips so ill ask you guys. Will this chip do what it says it does?

Genuine Holden chip to suit VS V6 Series 1 auto
    Police issue
    Code: BSTH
    Radio interferance package
    Tramission shift improvements
Surplus stock - limited quantity available
Can be used in standard engine to increase horsepower by up to 10%. Will also increase fuel economy by up to 100kms per tank.
I have tested this chip in my own vehicle with a standard exhaust and found the following:-
    - economy went from 280kms per tank to 400kms per tanks
    - dramatic increase in throttle response
    - increased power through the whole range
    - car was much smoother to drive

Will it really increase fuel economy?? I already get an easy 450km from a tank with premium unleaded. Any info on this would be great. Thanks fellas

it wouldnt increase fuel economy, i dont know what the hell that guy was doing to get only 280km out of a tank, your right about 450 is normal around town. i have a backyard chip thats meant to do that kinda stuff and it does work... the only way it saves fuel is it has a lower idle therefore not using as much juice when at traffic lights (pretty negligable but sounds cool with my exhaust)

so do you think its worth getting? is there much power increase or am i just wasting my money? I put a cold air induction kit on my vs a couple of months ago, couldnt notice any difference at all. Claimed i was going to get and extra 7kw, better fuel economy.......

I don't know DR Bob but yes he is correct. I work for NSW Police and there is and QUOTE: Never WAS any changes in the cars for the police for POWER fuel or anything else. its all crap. I have seen all cars, bikes and boats and they're all factory. To get more power all they ever did was remove the whole air filter assembly but now they can't do that so they just remove the air cleaner! So I would never have anything to do with a so called *Ex-Chaser*. I don't want to bad mouth people but people don't realise police actualy laugh when they see advertised *Ex-Chaser* on cars for sale.

    *Bites nails*

Um... Removed air cleaner... OMG Argh!!! *Dies*

*Cough* Well that's not a good thing...

I have seen one difference - the circuit board in the black box undet the bonnet is different in my car to the ones in regular VS's - And I have seen the same thing in other ex-cop VS commodores to know this is consistant.

Wouldn't like to re-chip my car though. I treat it with enough care not to want to do it harm.

    Buyer BEWARE!!!
