    Default brake lights always on

    Hi guys,
hopefully someone can help me with this. My brake lights work fine when i haven't got the parking/headlights on, but as soon as i switch the headlights on the brake lights are on full as though i have my foot on the brake all the time. Is this a problem with the bulbs or a wiring problem? Id like to try and fix it myself but will take it to an auto electrician if i have to because this is kind of important. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you have single filament bulbs in the tailights, the correct bulbs should have 2 filaments, remove the bulbs and have a look at them, replace is single or clean the holders and base of the bulb if dirty.

im pretty sure this question gets asked every week, there should be a sticky for this. its the same with people asking why their indicators are flashing faster aswell.

i agree but even if it was a sticky, i dont think it would help, most newish members dont seam to think, "maybe its been asked before, i'll search first"
