Strip Boot light question

I have just spent a frustrating hour working to get a broken strip boot light disconected from the boot wiring, with no success. I've managed to get all the other lights off my old boot and onto my new one, but the old strip garnish is jammed. The connectors attaching the light to the boot wiring won't budge, and I've used all my strength trying to pull them apart. Has anybody got any tips? I swear they are glued together or something.

I had the same problem when I changed my bootlid. I ended up just cutting the wires and soldering and taping them back together

Did you have issues with just the strip garnish too? All the other connectors came apart fine (with a fair bit of force mind you!) It looks like its designed so that if you squeeze it a certain way, it would release, but I'll be damned if i can figure it out.
