    Default Ticking after pacemakers

Hey all, i had a set of pacemaker extractors fitted onto my 95 VR last friday

ever since the installation when you rev the engine you can hear a ticking noise, i checked under the hood and it sounds like its coming from the top

anyone know what it is? thanks in advance

Sounds like a leak. If you left the gaskets out it would leak.

did you do it or did you pay someone? if you did it (or a mate) put a new gasket on - a few years back they were about $20.

if you paid someone make it their problem.

All good, they SHOULD be able to just unbolt the extractors from the head, and hopefully just slip a gasket in there. Won't cost much. I'd be asking them to do it for free considering gaskets should be included in the price to start with.

take it back to dodgy brothers then. Let them know it's happened since they did it. They've either used a dud gasket, not used one (i think some places use a goo instead?!) or the block or pipes don't have a clean flat face.
Either way it was their job and they haven't done it right.

I assume they were new pipes and not second-handers you asked them to fit?

I have the same ticking and i used gaskets smeared with muffler putty. I reckon the extractors just amplify the sound of the valves.

this may sound stupid but i did it neway if you look at the gaskets they can go both ways and still fit but if put on the wrong way they leave a bit out into the exhaust port and it makes a ticking noise sounds silly but happened to me
