    Default Installing a head VT unit into VR

    bought a cheap vt cd player to replace vr cassette player in my calais ,hoping to do
    this so to keep steering wheel controls working . has anyone done this swap ? and will it work in regards to the steering wheel controls ?

    Are you talking about a double din one? Its not really possible without ALOT of modification. The heater box gets in the way and the headunit wont go all the way and sticks pretty far out. Well I know thats the case with a VS, I would assume its the same for a VR.

    lol why would you bother, vt is double din vs is single. the vt cd player still has crap sound quality.

    I think he means his VX calais has a VR unit in it.. he wants to replace it with a VT unit.

    nah wanna put it in my VR , but i was hopeing to keep the steering wheel buttons operating , thats why i thought a vt one might plug straight in

    Double din ? whats that ? its a factory vt cd/ cassette

    double din is twice the size as single din so it wont fit in your vr unless you modify the dash, i also doubt the vt player will work with the vr steering wheel controls.
