Ok I did a search, didn't find anything that directly related to my question...
I want to put a CAI kit on my VS, but I'm a bit of a noob about them, so...
HSV HDT HSV SS for VN VP VR VS V6 COLD AIR INTAKE KIT - eBay, Other Car Parts, Accessories, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 01-Sep-09 22:50:24 AEST)
what do you think of that one?
can anyone reccommend a better one or anything?
hey mate,
ive got that CAI on my car, i think half the people on this forum do haha. its a good one, good value for money and absolutely dead easy to install, takes maybe 20 or so minutes. for the money its a great deal.
whats the difference between that one and say this one though?
VN - VS V6 Commodore Cold Air Intake Kit SS Inductions - eBay Air Filters, Induction Kits, Performance Parts, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 03-Sep-09 20:30:45 AEST)
That'll be fine. After you factor in postage, you will probably find though it will be cheaper to buy one from GMH though.
Mad...I thought it was a bit overpriced for just a moulded piece of plastic...
when u get one let me know man, i want one for my vt but probably gonna go for the mace engineering one.
Well that CAI is from a VS Super 6, Can get em from holden for a similair price, I have one on my car and it works well. SS Inductions is the same thing, but uglier and more expensive lol.
Exactly ^^^
The VS Super 6 CAI snorkels are the top pick for VN - VS owners who want CAI's, they shit on the factory HSV intake snorkels too. But alot of people heat the snorkel lips up with a heat gun and gently pry them open a little more to get more air in.

edit: i should clarify , the cai has the intake hole facing forwards and the curved bonnet of the VS closes over it.

So the first one I mentioned (not the SS Inductions one) is the best out of the two?
just price one from Holden man.. think they are about $55-$65...
I've got an SS inductions one on my car, closing the bonnet on it a couple of years tends to flatten them out, so I got out some side cutters and cut back the top lip on it by about an inch, cos in places the lips were almost touching. The SS inductions one and the holden one kinda look the same to me...
hey guys i got a v6 3.8L VS commodore and i wanna get some more power out of it so what you reckon is the best way in doing it like what engine mods do you reccomend apart from turbo
I recommend using the search function, there are a billion threads on "performance" mods for V6's dude.
There is more than just a turbo for performance.

Navigate around the site and use the search function. It will also lessen your chance of being flamed for asking what is a very general question which you must admit would have already have been spoken about in detail already on this site.
C'mon guys......is common sense out the window now?It now seems that post counts below 10 seem to come with a lack of common sense and understanding of how to use a forum.....hmmmmm. Surely a search around is mandatory before posting.
This is getting boring. Maybe put a bulletin on the National News at 6pm advising people who sign up to internet forums to navigate and search around for any questions that they may have before posting![]()
Hey man, Dunno if this will be useful to you or not, but I managed to get an aunger CAI from repco for about $130 as I don't think they're stocking them anymore, that was a couple of months back so not sure whether or no they still have them. It's been pretty good and it looks like it's factory and runs straight into your stock air box.
Instead of wasting money on a cai why not do what I did. I got a hacksaw and some sandpaper and cut the bottom of the air box open. Betteq then most.

*IMPORTANT*
This might be a thread dig but whatever, it's my own thread, and better to use this one than make a new one.
Will putting a CAI and increasing the amount of cold air into the engine with an LPG mixer (tapped onto the air intake) affect anything to do with the LPG or anything like that.
Is it all ok?
