help replace voltage regulator

Guys.

Looking for assistance on how to replace voltage regultor assembly on my VR Series 1 commodore. I have removed the 2 screws attaching the assembly to the altenrator but removal is difficult as it is very tight with the head immediately behind it. Do I need to remove the alternator to do this or can it be done with the alternator in situ.

Your tips are welcome.

You need to take the alternator off. Remove the belt by turnng the tensioner pulley and take the two alternator mounting bolts out. Remove the alternator and replace the regulator/brush assy.

No, you don't need to take the alternator off at all! I did mine a couple of weeks ago, pissed off in late at night lol..But yeah, I managed to just wriggle it free from capture. Look at the replacement to get an idea as to how it will be sitting there.

you dont have to take it off,like for example if you cbf,but i just take the alt. off and check the stator etc. whilst im there. its easy anyway only takes an extra 5 mins!
