hi all,
i've fitted electric windows to my vr executive and they dont seem to work. the motors all work and so do the looms. i've fitted mid bcm.. not sure if thats the correct one. and i still have nothing when i hit the switch. just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem with the conversion. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Perhaps the mid bcm can't handle it? I installed mine 2 days ago actually, but i used a VN loom and the VN control box.. All working fine.
whats the control box?? maybe thats what im missing

Nah the VR/VS ran power windows off the BCM... If you have a high end BCM, you can get the appropriate wiring and do it that way.. But it's more expensive. What most people (Including me) do in VR/VS, is get a VN loom and control module... Only VN (+VP?) had them, they were separate to the bcm. It allows you to have the timeout and the autodown on the drivers window.
did u have most of the wiring already in the car? or did u have to install it all?
i didnt upgrade my low bcm and it runs my windows fine bar auto down.. give us a little more info on ur install

as far as i know the wiring exists in the car, to what extent i'm not sure. the front wiring in doors was there to the motor. not sure of the other end. the rear doors have wiring in them that i've plugged into b pillar plugs and the centre console one i plugged into the existing connectors uinder the ashtray area. not sure where they run under the dash. i pressumed that if the wiring was there all i would have to do is plug and play. All the wiring and regulators are working items that i have fitted. i then proceeded to change the bcm from low to mid. then got stuck. i found two plugs under the steering column that were for relays so i put two realys in.. not sure what they for.

put ur low bcm back in, there is a green wire u need to cut, n another wire u need to join.
OK, if you want to bypass your low BCM follow below..
*Disclaimer*
Follow at your own risk, i take no responsibility if something screws up.
BCM: in connector A (9pin plug) there is a blue/white wire in one corner, next to it is Green/Black wire. cut this wire 1-2cm from the plug and insulate it. Then solder on roughly 6" length wire to the end of the green/black wire that disappears into the loom.
Drivers Kick Panel: remove it and above the bonnet release, there is a funny shape connector which should have a rubber sleeve over the wires a couple inches above it. The connector has 4 central large terminals surrounded by smaller terminals on 3 sides. find the green/orange wire underneath the black wire and next to a blue/white wire in the door connector. Cut the green/orange wire about 2 inches away from the door connector on the body harness side of the plug. Insulate the bit that goes back into the main dash harness. Grab the little 2" bit of wire from the connector, strip it, solder it & heatshrink it to the 6" wire you extended off the green/black wire.
The window will now work like the other 3, without auto down
Don't do ^^ all.
You need to get a fuse (blade type 20Amp) into the number 7 slot in the fuse box and you need a relay that you need to buy from Holden as it is a special 5pin one.
Just ask for drivers window relay.
Oh and you need a 4 pin relay also. The relay plug that you found you need to put them in. 5pin and 4 pin one. If you put in normal relay in the 5 pin one you would've blown the fuse.
Check all the fuses because 5 and 7 are linked to power windows.
the main power window fuse socket, its not a fuse, its a circut breaker, same pins as a fuse but wont blow.
Whatsis that ment to read: dont do shit all? what i posted works, i've done it and my mate has followed it.Don't do ^^ all.
u do know u can edit a previous post to include new info like above![]()
Circuit breaker is basically the same as a fuse except it is self resetting. I would also recommend circuit breaker also but for testing verification fuse worked best for me.
Don't do ^^ all. Lol it was supposed to mean don't try the methods suggested above. Poor English, hard day at work.
Why thank you for your wise words in regards to post editing!.
your welcome
yes a fuse is good for testing, but it will pop when the windows up if the button is still pressed down, hence the circut breaker. they do the same thing, but u dont have to change the circut breaker when normally a fuse will pop.
The Method i posted works perfect bar auto down. turns on when car is unlocked, stays on when u turn the car off until the bcm switches off.. whats not to love?
