g'day,
i've been wondering for a while whether my 96 vs ute has a low fuel light. i've had the fuel level under empty and the light did not come on. another vs i know which is a 96 has a beep and a low fuel light, but it did have that speed alert thing, which i dont have.
do the lights in the dash blow globes often? or do i just not have a low fuel light![]()
im not sure if any other lights dont work in the dash either..
Have you ever heard a beep come from the dash?
There should be a fuel light and a beep.
nah i havent heard any beeps either. it seems like something is disconnected in there maybe..
do you know where the beep comes from?
I think the beep comes from the mode buttons but im not 100% on that.
It usually comes on when theres about 80km's left to go.
You can test the globe by turning the ignition to on, the reds should all come up indicating which ones are working.
base utes never had them....was only models fitted with either speed alert or trip computer that had the function.
i have a speed alert and a petrol light which beeps on a 96 exec if that helps/
if its a basic (Exec-spec) ute then it won't have the low fuel light/chime. the chime is relayed through the speed alert module (for Exec/Acclaim/S/SS/Equipe/Esteem/Vacationer) and from the dash cluster itself on models fitted with the trip computer (Berlina/Calais/Statesman/Caprice/HSVs)
My VR exec has the speed alert and also chimes on low fuel level and handbrake.
if you dont have a trip computer u wont have a petrol beeper and light
