    Default Heywire trip computer?

My VR seems to be having problems with the trip computer or something related to that I think. I get a beeping noise similar to the Overspeed alarm regularly whilst driving, every ten minutes or so, sometimes less.

I've watched all the displays to see what the problem is - there are no warning lights on the dash or anything, the Overspeed is set to 200 so it isn't that - the only thing I can think of is it seems to roughly correlate with the AVG speed reading changing. Does anybody have any idea what this could be and how to fix it? Or if not at least where the speaker for the Overspeed alarm is so I can disconnect the bloody thing?

Nah mate its been doing it about 8 months, full, empty, or otherwise. It's not an engine warning either as I've had it serviced three times in this period. It turned up after I had my stereo installed by a bloke who turned out to be pretty dodgy at wiring, so I can only assume he has messed something up in behind the dash.
