It's not recommended putting 225s on 6' rims. Interceptor rims are available in 15 x 7 and even 16 x 7 but 7' is the widest you can get. You can pick up a brand new set of chasers from just about any wrecker.
G'day Guys.. I'm looking at getting a set of pursuit rims for my VR. I believe they are mostly all 15x6", and I'd like to get a set of 225's for them, will that work? The stock 15" rims on now have 205/65R15 tyres, but it seems 225/65R15's are hard to get? Does anyone know where you buy these rims and if I have to get 225/65R15 or 225/60R15 tyres please?![]()

i got mine with second hand rubber (bout 60-70%) from a tyre place. a lot of people leave them behind when they get mags fitted. try and get ones with "ute" on them as they are made a bit tougher for tradies utes. all up cost me about $350 with rubber, the plastic centres is the hard bit to get.
I can't remember what I paid.. I think it was pretty similar though.
i got a set in the shed. with bald tyres on em..ill go have a look how wide if ya want.. i can get em cheap as.. if ya want some
You can buy them brand new from wreckers? Ok, I wasn't expecting that! I like the fat rubber 'baloon' type look so I don't want the same size rim as tyre, i'd prefer a wider tyre. Perhaps the 15x7's with 215's is the way to go.Originally Posted by Raging Bull

Secki, where did you end up getting some of the caps mate?Originally Posted by Secki
I picked a bunch of 4 15 x 7 Interceptors at the wreckers for 120 bucks, they are knew (well actually they're taken off a brand new car, it's not possible to buy chasers that have never been on a car) but they're compeltely new with no marks or dust.Originally Posted by ozute
I have 205s sitting on the front and 215s on the back, looks great at the back but if you're after the baloon effect then I'd recommend putting 225s on them just make sure they're 7' wide because apparently it's dangerous having a 225 size tyre sitting on a 6' wide stocky rim.
As for the centre caps, I got mine of wreckers aswell for $10 bucks each. Absolute rip off considering it's only a little bit of plastic and costs a third of the actual rim.
got the caps form the wreckers $25, he was selling caps and rims for $50, but i said id give him $25 just for the caps!

Ok cool, I think I'll get the 15x7's with 225's then.. Thanks Raging Bull![]()
Well I stopped into the tyre place on the way home this arvo from work, and after talking to the guy about the chasers and wanting 225's, he gently persuaded me away from them. So, Plan B. Another set of rims with 225's huggin em, and there's 2 particular rims that I like but I dunno the name of them lolOne of them is these on my old VS ute that I had up north.. Does anyone know what they're called?

Those are the VR Clubsport Immitation rims, they're not genioune Holden rims which in my opinion look a bit different and better. The biggest size they came out in was 17' X 8' and in my opinion look great.
Here's a pic of the genioune Holden VR Clubbys.
They're on special at the moment at wheelking.com.au check it out:
