    Default tightening the gearbox bands???

    hey guys is it possible to tighten the bands in a vs commodore auto gearbox? i need them tightened.if you can't is there any other way ? as its slipping. cheers mark

    Not possible except during a stripdown. Your trans is probably nearing it's end - cheapest and quickest fix is to add a can of transmission treatment ....Lucas seems popular right now. This will make the bands/clutches grip better. If the trans oil is black/burnt you might also change that.

    yea not easily though, they don't have a bung, you need to drop the pan/sump, its quite a messy job. theres some good write ups on here for that job.

    If you drop the pan, take it into a workshop and get a plug put in the pan to make it easy next time.

    if you wanna only drain some fluid you can undo the lines on your trans cooler, figured that out when one of my lines broke
    whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
    well they both whine but the blower actually puts out

    in the servo assembly there is a band apply pin, you can get longer ones from the states. Other than that there isn't allot you can do, go with what Hako said, pour in some mechanic in a can and cross your fingers, oh do a trans service yourself first.
