Default VS Ute Central locking interior light coming on only???

    hi guys,
i Just purchased a VS series 1 ute, v8 auto, when i press the central locking on the key, the interior light comes on, and the flashing red light in the dash goes off. but nether locks, unloack, you can press the locks up and down and hear the actuators working, could it mean i need a new remote? due to flat battery? strange i thought if its flat batteryin remote it wouldnt even activate the interior light???

    any advice help, thanks.

check the solenoids in the door are working properly, I needed replacement ones and got two from the wreckers for $55.

mate when its wet weather some of my doors make a noise like there trying to open or close(lock) light comes on. i doubt they would have put a button on the key just to turn light on and enable immobiliser. but im sure you guys would know more. i just took trims off and fiddled with the locks pulling them up and down. they work now but i always check them to be sure.
