Vr calais 2 button key

Hey guys, Firstly thanks to all that helped out with the other issue i had, wasn't anything that you guys thought but your help was much appreciated,

Any ways i got a mate that has a vr calais same year as mine, same BCM module, same computer, He got hit by a drunk driver and in turn rode the car off. He has 4 remotes for his car, one for him, one for the girl and 2 spares, i was wondering if i got these remotes from him could they be re programmed to be used with my car, or is it once they are programmed that is it (can't change them), I know i will have to get the keys cut to suit mine, although with the price of remotes these days and being able to get his for nothing it would save a lot of money except for the programming bit,

I would of grabbed his BCM and just put that in my car with his locks and barrel's etc.. but when he had the accident a bit or wiring shorted out and caught fire damaging some of the BCM (Body control Module)

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

I wouldn't be replacing the BCM and barrels... That would be a prick of a job, and if the BCM is damaged... I think your best bet would be having the keys reprogrammed and re-cut. Problems would arise if the key is cut in a fashion that you can't just grind it down a bit further to match your car...

i heard that once they are programmed for a car. thats it no othert cars can use them. i think the battery works tho?
