    Default Boot lever rooted

Ok, boot lever wont pop the boot anymore.

Not good at this sort of fidgity stuff. Just after someone who could fix it for minimal fuss and on the cheap.

What sort of place would i have to go to? Could a mechanic do it when i say took it in for a service? Body repair shop?

    cheers guys

spray wd-40 over the latch first. see if that fixes it.

    Guys,

My boot went the usual 'click' then 'clunk'.... it won't open.

I had a look and the metal rod (10cm long) inside the boot lid attached to the actuator had sheared off at the boot lid latch.

I was thinking... off to holden $$$$

After looking at it I figured how to repair it.

Hope these steps address your problem:

    1. Opened the back seat to release the boot with the emergency catch
    2. unscrew the two screws holding the silver latch.
2.a. unhook the emergency release cable from the latch (stow it so it does not pull pack to far. WARNING: Do not pull the emergency release tag near the back seat when it is unhooked from the latch - it may end up behind the boot liner).
    3. unscrew the two srews holding the actuator motor inside the boot lid (undo the power cable prior to removal).
    4. unclipped the rod from the actuator (it will push out of the white end piece).
    5. took 1 x metal coathanger (the type from the dry cleaners)
    6. cut 12.5cm of coat hanger.
6.a. you need a 10.5cm straight piece with the other ends bent at 90 degrees (off centre - check the current rod as a guide). I just measured the old one and matched up the bends/angles
    7. place the replacement rod into the acutator end, refit the actuator and hook the other end of the rod into the boot latch and rescrew it in.
    8. sorted!

I can post some photos if it helps. Though it is very easy once you have a look at it.

    Cheers

    Bart
