I have been offered a set of rebuilt monroe gas shocks and springs off a VN sedan, Im just wondering if they will fit a VR sedan. Both are live axle. I know the front strut tops are different, but is there anything else that might cause an issue?
A mate of mine swapped ones out of his vs for vl ones and im pretty sure they were a straight swap, so as a guess id say that you can put vn ones into vr.
suspension set up is the same
Thats correct, the only difference is the weights of each model and sthe springs are made to suit.
Sometimes if the height you want is between 2 springs for your model then look at a model with different weight and work out which springs might work.
Buying springs from wreckers can be quite cost effective even if you need to buy a couple of sets to get it right.
I couldn't get the ride height in the rear of my VS wagon right so ended up using sedan springs and it was as close as I wanted it.
Sure the load carrying is different between wagon and sedan but I didn't carry heavy loads anyway so didn't matter.

Ummm...no.
Rears are the same, the fronts are different. Different struts, different springs. The V8 VN-VP fronts are the same as the V6 VR IRS. It all has to do with vehicle weights and spring rates. The will physically fit but will not sit the same as the correct springs nor will they handle the same.
there will be different offset. when u go lowered ur car .. i remember someone fit VN-VP irs on VR irs ... and the wheels go more inner side, not the outer side... its very good to stop the tyre get rubbing...
as Live beam axle will be same. but maybe there have different offset, i guess so
