    Default Vr to Vn conversion HELP

    Hi ive just recently taken the Vr motor out of my ute and replaced it with a Vn ecotec motor. now im having trouble getting it to start and when it does start it idles nicely but when i go to increase the revs it stalls as if its sucking air/fuel??? Please Help!

    VN Ecotech ?? So just to confirm what motor do you have in there, just to make it clearer. I've got a feeling it's getting fuel but not enough air.

    Maybe it's just very late and i'm tired but the ecotecs were only from VS onwards?

    EDIT: I'll just refrase that. They WERE only from VS onwards. You might have (what some people call) a Buick engine in yours.

    not too sure i havent had much to do with the commputerised shit! lol it says ecotes 3800 on the top anyways

    That means its a buick 3800, rather than an ecotec 3800. They have different heads and intake and a few other things. I would say fuel or possibly a weak spark. Are you using the VN trans and computer?

    EDIT just read your last post.
    Yeah it will be out of a VS rather than a VN.

    yeah could be... im using the Vn transmission but the Vr computer! ive tries using the Vn computer and i dont get no reaction at all it just turns over.....

    Check your hoses. Check spark plugs (and leads and coils). Check the fuel lines. And then check it again just to make sure.
