hi, i have been wondering for to long now i have been told that you are required to fully balance the vt vx ecotec in order to put a 5 speed gearbox behind can some body please settle this for me
As said the engine is already balanced. I think what you're referring to is the flywheel. If you use a flywheel from a VN-VR (i.e. a solid flywheel) it will have a counterweight on one side for the external balancing of the buick engines. The ecotec is internally balanced (Series 2 Flywheel...). From that i deduce if you use a solid flywheel you need to have it rebalanced to be symmetrical.
ok thanks heaps i was reading after i posted that thread and further ead that the ecotec as you quoted are internaly ballanced so now we might just have to opt for the ecotec conversion for the vr then
ok one more, know i know that we might go ahead and o the conversion what would be the better, vn-vr s2 clutch and flywheel and as you stated get symetricaly ballanced or is there a flywheel made for the vt that is already ballanced. if so will the early pressure plate bolt up to late fly whel
