    Default Piller Trim

    Hi all,

I'm looking at re-trimming the headliner in the VS as its sagging badly and i'm just after some tips in getting the plastic pillar trim off without having it break as it seems to be stuck on quite well. Thanks for any help.

I used an old flat bladed bread and butter knife which doesn't have a pointy end - insert it behind the plastic and gently force the panel off - you will see that the plastic resists bending where the clips are so then you move the blade closer to the clip location. You'll break some as it's unavoidable. Trtim bits that get broken can be re-attached with contact cement or any suitable glue. I resorted to screwing one of mine back with a self-tapper and then put a 'screw cover' (from hardware shop) on top of the screw to hide it.
The best bit of advice I can give you is to take your time!
