Got a VS Commodore, the other day the wife took it out and it won't start.
Though maybe cause the key is getting old as it doesn't work the remote entry anymore.
When I turn the ke you can hear the relays clicking but nothing else happens.
Any ideas?
Jammed starter? Bad relay (doubt) or keyhead flat. Turn to ON and leave it for an hour (ON) then turn to START, see if it starts.
I had a problem like that.
It could be the battery supplying enough energy to work the starter motor but not ignite the engine or the starter motor is dirty.
Tried leaving the key on for an hour but still won't start
Get a length of wood and put it on the starter, give the wood a whack with a hammer (solidly, but not hard enough to dent it), preferably with someone else turning the key at the same time.
is your battery flat? I'm talking about the car battery, not the keyhead. Usually there's enough to slighty activate the starter solenoid, but will fail under load.
have tried to jump it so the battery is good to go, will try and give the starter a smash and see if that helps.
is it automatic? if so push the gear lever towards pasenger side n try start.. if stil doesnt work wriggle it around a little.. there is a switch stopping u from starting it in any gear.. n my last 3 vr commodores do the exact same thing!
I NOTICE HOLDEN DESIGNED ITS BADGE ROUND DUE TO CIRCLES GO ON FOR EVER..
Check for codes bridge pins 5&6 under dash.
Could be Key,Bcm,Inhibitor switch,starter relay,starter.
Could be a security link failure between key and bcm. If so this should come up on the error codes.
Disconnect the fuel pump sender & replace the fuel pump fuse if it has blown under the bonnet.
It may then crank and your fuel pump would be at fault.
