Default Auto Trans & Torque conv Question for the experts

I have toyota 4runner that currently has a VP V6 and t700 trans.
I have a vr v6 im about to rebuild to swap with the VP.
I have a couple of questions....

Can i put a V8 Auto behind the Vr as the v8 autos are a little stronger (helps for 4WDing)
Also can i put a different Torque Converter in from a v8 as again im guessing they are stronger than the standard V6.

I do have a Vr v6 Manual Ecu chipped ready to go in with the Vr motor.

    Thanks

As far as I know, the 6 and 8 boxes have different length input shafts, and also (I'm really not sure) may have different gear ratios. I'm not sure about torque converters, but your best bet for this would to be to talk to a transmission place. There are probably better after market ones anyway.

And the last line, do you want to convert it to a manual?
