some time ago I read somewhere that the bolts/screws holding the pump assembly to the tank are 'use once only' bolts and need to be thrown out and replaced with new ones once used. Can anyone clear this up?

The bolts are ok, it's the washers you replace.

also when taking it out of the fuel tank be careful not to damage the sender unit you have to sort of tilt it its hard to explain but when u see it ull understand what i mean!!

there is also a little rubber hose going to the sender, it will most likely pop off when you are removing everything, you want to make sure you DO remove it from the sender, then remove the sender, change the pump blah blah blah, then when the sender is back in, reconnect that hose, for gods sake dont forget.

Try to have the tank as empty as possible, try to lower the tank past anyything that gets in your way, I think I even removed my panhard bar last time.

the hose that you have to disonnect when you slide the assembly out and few cm's and pulls tight, shove a peice of fencing wire up it and bend it over outside the tank, that way you dont lose it in the tank. it might be ok if u got skinny arms to fit in the hole to find it, but i didnt.
The clamp that hold the hose on is a bit special too, but a pair of plyers and small flat blade screw driver will open it up.
