    Default VR Aircon

    Ok so a few questions.

My new VR dosnt have any A/C, not even a switch for it..
    Why is this?
Did the VR have the option to have A/C or not?
How much do you think it would cost to set this all up?

Dont really know what i need either, was thinking bout going to a wreckers or something..

Could i get some sort of price list if anyone has time?

    Cheers guys!

I'd reckon it would be cheaper to sell your VR and buy another with a working A/C. To retrofit you need compressor ($400new) evaporator ($200), condenser ($120) , hoses ($200), belts and pulley ($100), regas/oil ($200) plus the labout to remove the entire dash to fit the evap in (8hrs) etc etc. New you wouldn't get out for under $2000 minimum....from a wrecker maybe $1000 or scabbing bits and pieces maybe $500. The hassle would be extreme.
Fresh air is cheap and freely available.

Yeh i wouldnt want to sell it as it is a porject car..
I found out my mate has still got is VS that he crashed a while back, so ill prbly get everything off that for alot cheaper..(im hoping to stinge him $500 for all of it)

what kind of work needs to be done to get everything in?
8hour job? Better to get a professional to do it?

If your mate has a VS that's pranged you can bet your last brass razoo that the aircon got damaged in the prang - if so the gas would have escaped and the outside air would have entered the system...along with moisture which will stuff all the insides of the whole system. The oil used in A/C systems is hygroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture.....then it rusts everything.
    Really....it ain't worth it.
