Hey boys
I have been looking around lately at cold air inductions and a performance chip for my VS.
I have heard that the cold air induction system has trouble sitting in the engine compartment without modifications to the actual unit? Is this true?
Also, are there any negatives on performance chips and is there any cheap shit brands out there that I should watch out for?
Im these are two parts I am keen on buying and want some more power
Thanks heaps guys
The VS S/C cai is suffice for a vs v6, you can get it from your local holden spare parts dealer for about 65 bucks, an extra 20 or 30 for the pre cut box..
Or if you want the CAI system which replaces your current air box id try having a talk to MACE about their CAI, heard their good value
For performance chips id try sending a pm to either greenfoam or delcowizzid as they do tunes for various cars on this forum, i have a tune from delco and its one of the best upgrades ive done so its well werth while![]()
when shopping for a CAI, go the genuine holden one, its cheaper is does the same job as any other one. and yes i have heard of greenfoams and delco's chip sounds to be a buck well spent
mate from what i have learnt avoid ebay like the plague for the tuned chip but use them for your cai i got mine which is vp not vs so i know it's different but i think from memory it cost me $50 for the cold air intake and delco done a awesome tune for $80
yeh you shouldnt refer to ebay for performance related parts...the search will come back with electronic superchargers, a super special resistor, and memcals that cost like $400...
what exactly does delcos chip do?? can anyone explain, does it map the fuel etc out
yeah dont buy one of them chips of ebay with the tacho for the picture i got one for a subaru and all it was,was a 20cent resistor..cost 15 bucks.
instructions said to short sum wire with it,didnt even try it.
remaps fuel and spark timing, like any decent tuner. He seems to know the limits of these engines quite well. I have run greenfoam's tunes in each of my cars but I think mostly it's personal preference and more a matter of who specialises in what motors.

what do you have to send to them for them to tune or just send payment and they send back a chip
best too ask them yourself , i would say they both go through a fair few memcals so it would probably help if you send them your stock one after youve fitted your flashed one.
i have a delcowizzid tune but i grabbed a memcal from the wreckers and sent him that , now i have a tuned memcal and a stock one incase i sell the car so i can whack the stocky back in :P
these guys could open theyre own memcal shop :P... how much do they charge??
again you should ask them yourself , i dont want to go speaking for anyone as it may be a case of a custom tune or something.
not what we could could be chargeing thats for sure![]()
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

they charge not enough for what they do mate thats for sure but if you contact them they would be happy to give ya a $ i got mine through delco and wouldn't go back to stock ever gear change pickup throttle response the whole lot is like brand new
oh and cu5h1ng here is a link for ya mate for delco fans LOL

hi fellas i dont know if i posted this in the right spot but here goes. I bought a vs commodore the other day and was told it had a mod chip in it, I pulled it out today and had a look it had delco on the back of it. Is this just the standard chip or is it a mod one?
if the chip has a silver sticker on it with delco on it and a code of 4 letters and 4 numbers like BWPJ1640 then shes stock as

might want to double check you don't have one of those gay intake temperature sender resistors, if the previous owner was a spastic he/she may have fallen prey to the ebay bull crap floating around.

its got something like Delco BHRP on it but no sticker
Hey guys, I have a VR V6 Ute and are wondering what other mods I can do to increase performance. So far i have Hurricane extractors and 2.5 cat back exhaust, just been serviced - cleaned injectors- new plugs, I have a cold air intake and am looking at putting a 70mm big bore throttle body on. any ideas?
Cheers.
