    how do u change clutch cable on vr v6 commodore

    Hi Ital,

    on a V6 VR it's quite simple:

    1) remove the black plastic cover above your pedals by removing the plastic screw/plugs

    2) remove the heating ducting in front of the clutch pedal - you may have to remove the end piece that puts air through to the door vents to get this out (remove the three screws which can be seen when your door is open)

    3) disconnect the clutch cable from the clutch pedal

    4) place your car on flat ground and jack it up and put on car stands

    5) remove the plastic clutch cable gearbox cover carefully as the tabs break easily

    6) loosen the tension on the cable housing by twisting the adjustment screw where the clutch cable is mounted onto the gearbox

    7) exchange your clutch cable for a new one and reverse proceedure

    note: if step 3) is impossible due to tension on the cable, do steps 4) 5) & 6) first
