I have done diagnostics testing on my partners vs commodore and I am getting codes 31 and code 82.
The problem we are having is for error 82 code the car is meant to be in limp mode and my mrs has had arguments with them as that is not the case. The car drives fine changes gears fine but the only hassle she is having (besides the engine light being on) is that when we put the car into to reverse it jolts also when we change from reverse to 3 to go on our merry way it jolts again. It has a few people stumped as to why this is the case(even her mechanic brother).I just would like to get something sorted as this is the family car and I want it to be safe for the mrs to drive. Any help and suggestions would be most appreciated.
Also should we be worried about code 31 at all?
Thanx
82 is shift solinoid error for 1-2 shift solinoid 31 just the immobilizer hasnt disarmed at some stage before starting the car and its logged the code.dissconnect the batter negative for 5 minutes then go for a drive and recheck codes and see what you get
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
I had a similar code for a 2/3 solenoid and the car went into LHM with engine light on. Turned car off and disconnected battery and no light and no LHM.....however there was a code logged in the memory. This fault kept re-appearing till I got the solenoid replaced.
So that is probably what's happening - the solenoid sticks, logs a fault and goes into LHM until it unsticks, turns light/LHM off but still has fault code in memory.
I was going to replace the solenoid but how do I determine which one is 1-2 and which one is the 2-3 solenoid. Holden told the mrs that she would have to take the car to them to find out which one was which is this right ?
Just wanted to to say that the car is not in LHM at all which is why all this is so confusing.
