you could HSV enhance any model back then, even a HSV steering wheel counted as "HSV enhanced", especially if it is an EXEC, I wouldnt be creaming myself, its pretty common. Also, if its 185kw, wouldnt that make the engine a standard V8, not the 195kw HSV enhanced engine?

My VR was a 6 and it had a heap of Hsv gear on it, so it had numbers and stamps all over the log book

could mean something could mean nothing,

Is there anything that looks out of the ordinary on the car,

The 185i engine you have is no different to any other Holden V8. All hsv did was put in a tune and a poxy set of headers that hardly flow any better then the factory cast ones. But not hatin on your car, but its possibly nothin particulary special just been to the hsv factory for some badgs and a memcal change.

i didnt know they did all models with the option of v8... another question if manual is standard, why is the resale value these days higher than an auto?

Because most people payed extra for the auto, making the manual rarer (in most cases)
