Default factory CAI getting enough air? (v6)

just wondering how these can get enough air running through them to be effective as the bonnet closes straight over it .... obviously they do otherwise why would holden release them.
wheres the airflow coming from? anything i can do too improve it?

The bonnet does close straight down on top of it but because the vent spans almost the whole nose of the bonnet it is more effect air flow in take then standard air box

Funny you should say CAI , I just install one on my VS tonight, that and Reco'd Injectors and a reprogramed memcal

not only has my fuel consup. dropped but it feel a heap more powerful, and smoother drive

hahahahaha yeah exactly what said, I have put a CAI on all the commodores I have had

My rough idle has died down a bit too,

all in all to do the whole lot, took me 2 and half hours (30 mins to do the CAI properly) and then a gave it an hour of half granny foot and half lead foot, and considering this is my 2nd Auto commodore i have ever owned and that the box is on it way out, Im really quite happy with now

need to get it out on open road now, try and see the diff

    Gagging for next NSW Cruise

i thought the same thing...but if you close your bonnet and run your hand on the right hand side there is a fair big gap, and at cruising speed the air will go through the smallest gap... iv heard alot about these cai's good and bad sounds like you guys give them thumbs up ?? :P
