hey all im looking at making my ss into a little project and wanted some advice, Im looking at pulling out the interior and recarpeting and redoing the seats etc. im just chasing sugestions on colours and anything else i might want to do while the interior is entirely stripped. (dash doors stuff like that).

Im gonna take all your suggestions on board and build me a car to be proud of.

Once i get the interior done im gonna get started on the outside (picking a paint colour etc to match interior) the finally some work on the engine.

Im looking foward to getting started but i wanna have a good idea on where to start so im not just gonna jump into it

alright well ive decided on putting in VY clubby seats but they are gonna be red and black leather with red ss stiching on the backs. going red stiching around the door trims. but im stuck with the doors themselfs, im not sure if i want to keep the doors as they are or alter them to fit a sound system (coustom moulds etc). and also could i have some suggestions on the colour of the carpets. Im thinking a real dark purple crush velvet, wat do you think that would look like with the red and black seats and door trims?

Black carpet only. But proper black, but that shitty grey holdens use.

Your on the money with the seats, but retrim the rears to match (or modify the VY rear to fit if you can)


You have a VS SS, you should already be proud (unless its auto, then i wouldn't be proud either)

yeah im not changing rear seats to vy howerver the red and black leather will be throughout the entire interior. why black carpets? and yeah i am prud of my car but i want it to be MY car if you know wat i mean not just the standard run of the mill ss already got a 355ci stroker and a couple of other small tweeks . and its a manual as well haha

go black carpet, with the roof lining etc. black looks nice in the new calais and repaint the plastic in the dash etc

yeah in the dash insterts im gonna do red leather and the plastic bits of the doors im gonna paint black instead of grey. i wanna do something with the hood linning to but im not sure to do some type of mural or something or just change to black

black leather with red stitching would look very nice. and yeah a mural would sure look better than plain old black. but remember it will get dirty easily

well ive got another car to drive around while i do the work on the car and im a fanatic about keeping my car clean (as clean as possible with a kid and wife ) does anyone know someone in the townsville area i could go see about getting the hood linning done with a mural? or someone i can send some fabric to do it? im gonna go with a black backing so im not sure what type of mural to get, Im thinking like mountains in the distance with lightning strikes all round, or just the sky with a bit of rain and a lightning strike that seems to light the whole thing up (im gonna change the interior light to either blue or green) and underseat neons that will be blue

lol everytime we have something organised you cant make it . I found out that i can buy leather through my work (how odd only been working there for like a year and a half and im only just finding this out now -_-). so its gonna be a lot cheaper to buy than i thought cause they are gonna give it to me for cost price. something like $47 a meter . as apposed to like $80-$90 that they charge for anyone else so im real happy.

you mean the cluster or the dash? ive got a coustom painted dash coming from 4blok. and i was gonna upgrade to the stage 3 cluster (currently stage 2) wats the diference with the stato cluster. i think ill have to c it before i make up my mind

I am debating as to whether i supercharge my 5 litre or have an engine swap. Im looking at putting in an ls engine. maybe a gen 3 block. i cant make up my mind but either one is going to happen before christmas.

Are ls blocks reliable? I know the 304 is tuff,torquie and hard to break. Would it be worth doing a rebuild and stroke or am i better off doing the big conversion?

I dont know anyone to do it for me so any help will be great
