Default removing sway bar link pins ?

So i finally got around to buying some ssl front springs today for my caprice and went to put them in and got halfway through removing my front strut but had no idea how to get the swaybar link pins out, i undone the nuts on both ends and thought the pin would just slide out but it is held in by the bushes and a little retainer wall on both ends, now my question is how do you remove the pins from in between the front strut and the swaybar, do you have to drop the hole sway bar? and if so how do you get to the bolt on the back of the swaybar bracket as there is another nt in the way of you getting a socket set in there also tied with a shifter and it wont fit in ther eiter.

    cheers mitch

You have to have both sides up off the ground and have both pins undone. Then they just fall out.

yeah, reason you cant get it out at the moment is because the other pin is hlding it up.

Another way to do it without doing the other side is to undo the top nut of the link pin and then lift the strut up.

Place a jack under just the strut and compress it up, get it high enough and the pin will come out. Then you can push it to the side.

Its a little dodgy but saves some time.

    aZk.

vice grips to hold the pin and a ratcheting spanner to undo top and bottom, then a large bar to lever down the sway bar so you can pull the pin out.
helps if your a big bugger.
