Hey guys,
My VR 94 commodore's speedo seems to jump every now and then..
Its hard to explain but ill try to explain.
Say if im doing 40ks, the bar will like fling up tobsay 50, then down to 30 then the 40.. Its like its loose or something?
Any ideas? Sensor or something?
If you dont understand what i mean, let me know and ill try to explain it better lol
Cheers
If the car doesn't do strange things like change gear when the problem occurs then I'd say it's probably a bad connection to the instrument panel - where the connector plugs onto the printed circuit board...maybe a dry joint or crack in the solder similar to the problem with bad temp/fuel gauges. Have you had the dash out recently? - if so you may have dislodged something.
try another speedo sender... they do **** up from time to time... see if theres oil in it... also when removing dash clusters sometimes people scraps the printed circuit boards on the sharp dash frame when removing it and it breaks the tracks.

Mine used to do something pretty similar straight after i installed a cold air intake..id accelerate from the lights andthe needle would not move for a bit, then it would randomly jump straight to like 30-40.
Ive changed my cluster, and it's working fine now :S
