vs 5ltr, 5speed/6speed manual coversion???

hey there

i have a vs 5ltr ute and will be pulling the motor out soon to stroke it, so i was thinking while i have the motor out why not change to manual..........

so can any1 tell me were i can find the full kit? and how much?

and how much is involved in putting a 6peed in?

or would i be better off sticking with my auto? i would rather a manual though

Have a look at Stealthy's International VP Calais. That has a T56 in it. Would probably be easier to get a donor V8 with a T5 setup.

i did the manual conversion last year,bloody glad i did. Your best bet is to ring around wreckers to get the kit,if thats no good mal wood auto in QLD will have what you need,bit pricey but everything is reco'd and with warrenty,either T5 or T56,he has the kit.
The T56 (6 speed) set up is very similar to a 5 speed set up,just different box and computer i think

i was at mal woods shop not long ago having a yarn about putting a T56 in my vs. he said with a reco box i would be looking at the best part of 7 grand. however if u came across a cheap T56 the cost would be nowhere near that much. i'll try and get an itemised price list for all the bits needed when i pass by next in a few weeks, if i get there i'll post it up for ya

theres a 6 speed set up on ebay atm that may be of interest,i bet will be cheaper then most ways.mal will do the T5 for bit over 4k and yeah as said,the T56 for around 7k. Im getting the T56 next year,it'll cost me 4k + $750 for fitting + 1k for a reco diff (3:91 ratio).
