hi all my car has been running ok just a little and i mean little ruff on idle i let it sit for a week went out to start it and the thing sounds like its running on 7 cylnders it is running real ruff!!! left it to run for half hour it was still running like a dog...changed the coil and nothing(other coil might be shot) pulled diffrent leads off at a time and it didnt change at all...wen i pull the front 2 leads off the left bank seperatly it makes a diffrence same with the right...some times it will run good wen i start it up but only for 1-2 seconds i hav checked alot of things but no luck no leaks...i have new leads plugs button cap 1 month old...checked under the cap no moisture...what are your thoughts on my situation im a cert 1 mechanic and it has me stuffed im leaning towards it being spark... the exhaust smells a lil petroly and seems to hav more than usual moisture coming out of it...im thinking this might be one for holden but i am praying that you all might b able to help me...oh and when i plug the paper clip in no faults when i start it with the clip in it runs even worse...please give me your advice it is greatly needed...
today i pulled a few leads off found that it seems to be only running on 4 cylnders no spark out of 6 and 8 what would make it drop spark on those 2 but i think its only running on 4 cylnders?i once read a story about a crank angle sensor doing a similar thing...im leaning towards that or the computer since the distributor cap n button n leads r new im pritty sure 5 and 7 are the same but i did it at night and burnt the s@#t out of myself removing a lead so i didnt test them properly i just cracked it and went inside...please help...any advice would be gladly appreciated...does anyone know how much it is for a crank angle sensor?and the price of another computer im just worried about changing the computer because it has a custom chip
If you have a distributer you don't have a CAS.....the problem you describe seems to be to do with the ignition module and/or the distributer. Try a search on this forum.

thanks hako will try suss that out dont know much about the whole setup really the newer cars have me lost...so i guess my best bet is to change the distributor..thanks for the link much appreciated... my problem seems to be alot diffrent to theres tho why would only a couple of cylnders stop firing all the time now they just have no spark ever without a doubt...ps thanks for replying to my post your a champion thumbs up
