Default Lowering, just a BIT more.

    Heyy guys,

just quickly- i own a VR sedan, live axle, and had SuperLow Kings Springs professionally installed all round.. heavy duty in the rear..

one problem, this was all installed around 9 months ago.. and the suspension has not sagged as much as i had thought in the back, AND IT STILL SITS A BIT HIGH..

i was just wondering, whether cutting half a coil off (or less) or getting the spring re-compressed might take it down to the desirable height..

and yes, i know both of these options aren't the safest etc etc.. thats why this is a question.. i was just wondering whether because they are heavy duty springs, they could handle the cutting or compressing..??

    thanks guys,
any help or words of wisdom appreciated..

Thanks too for all the replies guys
I was hoping not to have to spend any money. But looking like I'm gonna
    have too.
Wat would happen but if I did cut a bit of the coil off? Dangerous? Uncomfortable? Etc.

Yeah man, cutting is NOT GOOD.

Firstly if the cops pull you over cause they see you riding to low or anything, they have the right to jack up your car on the side of the road, an if its cut. Then you will need it to be towed and lotsa $$$ for the fine. Thats if you dont destroy ur rear end like the guy in melbourne..

    moral of the story.

it will likely cost less, overall if you get it down legally rather than cutting or torching.

mate, this is what makes it so dangerous. Have a look at the top of your spring, where it's wound, and you'll notice that it sits flat, or even. Cut even just the smallest amount off the spring, and it will no longer be level, You will be left with a tip, or a point. So once it's fitted, the spring is really being held in the by the tip, rather than being seated...

    Sigh.

Cut your springs you deserve to be kicked in the dick.

Pretty much everything dynoryder has said is complete rubbish.

Go buy ultra lows. It will drop it another inch or two.

Just fixed up the wording for you.

But seriously, if you want lower than ultra low... get bags or get your current springs reset... at least its less dangerous.

NO spring can handle being cut... it's designed to work with the amount of coils it has, remove a coil and it will not work as it should. Compressing is a bit less dangerous since the overall integrity of the coils is maintained. A HD springs just means its stiffer than a standard spring.
