Angry Smashed Window - Broken Into

So I won tickets to the Manson concert in Adelaide last night and while I was at the concert my passenger window got smashed and my GPS stolen.

Weird thing is that the GPS was hidden under the seat and nothing else was touched. I had my PSP in the car and they could have easily popped the boot and taken my amps and sub but the only thing missing is my GPS, a cheap one at that.

So anyway I am now left with a smashed passenger window (wasn't really a fun drive back last night (about 150kms) with a plastic window). But anyway I have a old VR lexcen at home that I can steal parts from.

So does anyone know if the window out of that is going to fit into my VS? I have power windows as well while the VR doesn't, is that going to be a problem? I have replaced a window in a rear door before so I am going to assume its very similar. I just dont wanna pull the glass out the VR to find it wont fit my VS.

    Cheers guys.

Yeah, however I am not to worried bout the GPS it was only cheap when I got it and the battery in it was dead I am mostly pissed bout the window.

I seem to be having lots of bad luck with my car at the moment. On the weekend I washed my car so one of my mates decided it was a good idea to try and slide over the bonnet. Instead he kneed in the front guard and cracked the paint I just had that whole side of my car repaired and resprayed since an accident I had earlier this year (other person failed to give way).

But anyway, any ideas if that window will fit or not?

A$$holes - they find a nice car with no thought, just smash and grab ....... Is your's VS a Calais, the Alarm would of went of its nut if they opened the door - then you would of got the 3 flashes to say break in occurred when you unlocked the car next, (my Vs Ute did this has it had a Calais BCM - and some junkie prick popped the lock and stole a old ipod nano and $2.50 from the ashtray -but the JVC DVD headunit was left there - all other cars in the carpark copped it worse)

What Year model Lexen is it,

I dont think it would be to much mucking around, but only thing I worry about is the manual window to power window

have a funny feeling it will be fine, dont count me on it

Anyone back me up or has someone been there done that

The glass will def fit. Its only the mechanisms that are different between power and non power.

Any VN-VS window will fit (assuming its front, if its rear, wagon windows wont fit)

Also, chances are they saw you when you parked, putting it under the seat. I try not to leave anything in my car, although i rarely leave it anywhere where its able to be broken into.

Yeah well as you said ORIXVywags if they opened the door the alarm would have gone off but they were smarted than that, I had locked and deadlocked the car and they hadnt even touched the locks to try and open the doors just lent through the window.

Hmmm its quite possible that someone saw me put it under the seat, it was a sold out concert so there were people everywhere.

But anyway if the window is going to fit I will probably attack it tonight after work and see if I can get it all fixed up. Thanks guys.

GPS and UHF radio thefts are happening around town here at the moment, 34 reported thefts in the last two months.

Back in the 70's in New Guinea we would always have a set rat trap in the glovebox for any locals searching the glovebox thru the open window (no A/C in those days).

    haha thats a sick idea!
Doesnt matter where you hide shit, they'll break into anything..
also wipe off the suction cap marks for the window holster thing too, that'd make it fair obvious you have a GPS
