    Default suspension question

    okay so im planning on lowering the back of my car

    and dont worry i am not going to be a dumb*** and cut the springs or anything along those lines

    i just need to know weather my car would have Live or IRS

    Its a 1997 Seris 2 VS Esteem

    any help much appreciated

    have a look mate the irs has cv shafts and live well most ppl have seen an old car

    a bit off topic but dose any one know if a 2000 ute has live rear end or vu any ute from 2000-06

    ive only seen irs after 98

    Pretty sure VT plus were all IRS, no matter what model.

    As for OP, there are a few threads on this with pictures. See if you can search for one.

    get the job done by pro's aswell, the irs cars are known to develop serious camber problems

    untill the vt irs was a option or included extra

    this is why i want to find out bout vt live axle only thing that i know that has it is the later vy tonners

    hey guy just wondering why my lowered wagon would have a real bad sag to the rear right hand side of my car. its not the springs or anything but its still got stock shockies in it could this be the problem? also its live axle
    anything good in life is either illegal, immoral or addictive

    springs control ride hight so saging has to be springs all shocks do is stop the spring ocilateing

    Off topic, i was chatting with a m8 at work abouts the springs he put in his car, im just like what are they super lows, ultras? Hes just like nah i just cut em in half, i can do yours as well if you like. I'm like nah i think ill stick with the king super lows i bought.

    Some people have no idea.

    yeh i know for sure its not the springs coz ive swapped em round with another set of SSL and the result is the same.. also its got no rubbers holding the spring in place i noticed this the other day while changing the springs.. there should be some type of rubbers holding it there shouldnt there??

    I really dont understand why people only lower the back of their and having it look like the boot is full of bricks,looks shit i think,but thats just me. I recently bought a heap of VN-S bits which included a pair of lowered rear IRS springs,genuine not cut. I dont want them as i'll be getting whole lot done at a later date,If you want them let me know and you can have them for $50 plus postage

    i have a set too $50 dollas for mine

    and yes there needs to be rubbers on the spring

    if you have a new set in then a arm would probaly be bent

    how much of a sag is it? is it on the petrol tank side might be when you have a full tank might make it look worst?

    lol im just throwing out ideas :P

    and an adjustable panhard rod make it so you can center the rear axel to stop scrubbing out on the wheels as it tends to lean to one side when you lower it!

    yeh it could be the shocks coz they are pretty old but i was thinkin of gettin the panhard rod coz my diff is centered like you said.. if got a set of shocks from an Spack VS ute im thinking about wacking those in couldnt hurt
